Schooner "Wyoming"

The schooner "Wyoming" was the largest wooden ship ever constructed. She was built in Bath, Maine by the yard of Percy & Small and had an overall length of 450 ft. with 350 ft on deck. She was outfitted to carry large cargoes of coal and could be operated with a small crew of only 11 hands. Due to her extreme length and wooden build, she was lost, as the hull was not strong enough to resist the twisted and flexing of rough sea conditions.
